Our school is very fortunate to be located in such an amazing outdoor setting, with access to the forest and mountains. As part of our Education Outside the Classroom we take advantage of our special surroundings. The Year 6-8 children take part in an EOTC programme run by Activity Hanmer.
The Year Six children spend three days acquiring new skills to introduce them to the outdoor environment. The activities include tramping, biking, orienteering and team building initiatives.
The Year Seven children build upon the skills acquired in Year Six and develop them further.
The Year Eight children have two programmes. The first one continues on from the Year 7 programme and further develop their skills in tramping, mountain biking and bush skills. The second programme is the Final Expedition, which is a 3 day, 2 night expedition in the Hanmer hills. The children play a major role in planning this trip.
